ANGEL’S ENVY Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Port Wine Barrels is an award-winning spirit. The result of craftsmanship, a healthy respect for tradition and a restless instinct for constant improvement, this is a modern and premium take on classic bourbon and the winner of Gold at the 2022 San Francisco Spirits Competition.
We’re famous for our secondary finish and we use hand-selected ruby port wine casks for a final, secondary ageing of our whiskey. The port finish perfectly fits our bourbon’s taste profile, adding just the right layer of richness.
But before we add that special finishing touch, our bourbon whiskey is aged in new, charred White Oak barrels, typically for 4 to 6 years. The charring of the barrels is crucial to developing our whiskey’s taste. It opens up the wood, making it easier for our bourbon to extract delicious flavours as it ages. The secondary finishing in 60-gallon hand-selected port barrels from Portugal is the crowning touch before we blend it for the perfect flavour profile.
The taste of ANGEL’S ENVY Bourbon Finished in Port Barrels is a treat to discover. With a gold colour laced with amber hues and nearly copper in tone, the first aromas are of subtle vanilla, raisins, maple syrup and toasted nuts. Tasting reveals more vanilla and maple syrup, along with ripe fruit, toast and bitter chocolate. The finish is clean, with a lingering sweetness and a hint of Madeira that slowly fades. It’s no wonder the angels are envious.

With barrel ageing, 5% of the spirit is lost each year to evaporation, and is called the Angel’s Share. After tasting our finished whiskey, Lincoln joked that we’d finally gotten a better deal than the angels. And so, ANGEL’S ENVY was born.
ANGEL’S ENVY Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Port Wine Barrels is a natural choice for any home bar. It’s an ideal centrepiece for a comfortable night in. It’s also a gift that’s instantly interesting. And here’s some bourbon trivia to go along with your elegant gift: a “straight” bourbon must be aged for at least 2 years and contain at least 51% corn in the mash. In case you’re wondering, we use 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley.
